What is the principle of Sysmex UN3000 urinalyser?

The Sysmex UN3000 urinalyser is an automated urine analysis system that utilizes multiple principles to analyze urine samples. Its primary functions include the evaluation of physical, chemical, and microscopic properties of urine. Here are the key principles involved in the operation of the Sysmex UN3000:

1. Physical Analysis: This includes measurements of urine color, clarity, and specific gravity. The system uses optical sensors to assess the turbidity and color of the sample.

2. Chemical Analysis: The analyser employs reagent strips that are dipped into the urine sample. Each strip contains multiple chemical pads that react with the constituents in the urine, such as glucose, protein, ketones, bilirubin, urobilinogen, nitrite, pH, and specific gravity. The color change on these pads is measured photometrically to quantify the levels of these substances.

3. Microscopic Analysis: The Sysmex UN3000 also includes a microscopic examination feature that can identify and quantify various elements in urine, such as cells, crystals, casts, and bacteria. It often uses digital imaging technology combined with machine learning algorithms to analyze the microscopic components of the urine sample.

4. Automation and Integration: The analyser is designed for high throughput and integrates all aspects of urine analysis, providing a comprehensive report that can be directly interfaced with laboratory information systems (LIS) for efficient data management.

The Sysmex UN3000 is widely used in clinical laboratories for routine urinalysis due to its accuracy, efficiency, and ability to automate complex procedures.
